Cherice Harrison-Nelson (1959- ), co-founder of the Mardi Gras Indians Hall of Fame and Big Queen of the Guardians of the Flame Mardi Gras Indians in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Cherice Harrison-Nelson former New Orleans public school teacher and co-founder of the Mardi Gras Indians Hall of Fame and has traveled extensively to perform and present Mardi Gras Indian culture and tradition. The Mardi Gras Indian Hall of Fame works to honor and educate the community about the individuals and groups involved in the arts and culture of the Mardi Gras Indians of New Orleans. She is the Big Queen of the Guardians of the Flame Mardi Gras Indians. Her son, Brian Nelson directed the award winning 2010 documentary film, Keeper of the Flame
